Three cadaver dogs alerted on the Dumpster around 3 p.m.

Investigators found brush and debris inside. All were remnants of a home being renovated.

The sheriff's office said they did not take anything from the Dumpster.

Bloodhounds had searched the area several times in the past. The dogs' handler described the incident as an anomaly.

The family wants everyone to take a good look at the video and hopes someone will recognize the 5-year-old.

Ronald Cummings sister Crystal shares stories and pictures of Haleigh Cummings

SATSUMA, FL -- Pictures of 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings are posted all over Putnam County. The are on "Missing Child" flyers. Haleigh disappeared from her Satsuma home February 9th.

Friday, Haleigh's family brought out more photographs of the little girl for the media.

And every photograph tells a story.

Like the one of Haleigh as a flower girl in her aunt's wedding in December.

The strawberry blond child in a royal blue dress is bent over, picking up the flower petals.

Haleigh's aunt, Crystal Cummings said, "As my daughter and Haleigh were dropping the flowers, Haleigh would pick the petals up! She thought she needed to pick them up. My daughter said 'No. You have to drop them.' It was really cute."

Ronald Cummings Grandma talks with reporters about Geraldos interview

Reported by: Matt Saffer

SATSUMA, Fla. -- Standing outside the tent her family has been under for the past 14 days, Annette Sykes says she can’t believe what Geraldo Rivera put her grandson through.

“When he opened the door---it was disgusting…to say the least…it was disgusting for anybody to put a man with his child gone like that through what he put him through,” said Sykes.

Geraldo Rivera showed up to Ronald Cummings tent over the weekend to ask him questions about his daughter’s disappearance. While there, he asked if Ronald was a drug user, if he abused women and if he was a police informant.

“They can sling dirt all they want, all that does it take the focus off Haleigh,” said Sykes. She said it took everything she had to hold back during Geraldo’s interview.

“It infuriated me…But me, I would have liked to punch him…and I almost did,” said Sykes.

After only asking a handful of questions, Ronald’s father stepped between the two and told Geraldo the interview was over. In a few minutes, Putnam County Deputies arrived to serve Geraldo with a trespassing notice. The family tells us Geraldo wouldn’t sign it, but also promised to never come back.

“She’s been gone two weeks now and the media slows down a little more everyday you know because it’s getting longer and longer…the longer that she’s gone, I know that it tends not to be a big story to ya’ll but it is to us…and we just have to keep her face on the news…just to keep her there,” said Sykes.

The family tells us Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy personally came by to deliver “No Trespassing” signs to the family. Family members say that was a wonderful sign that the sheriff’s department is doing all it can to keep things calm and keep the focus on finding Haleigh

The partial transcript of Geraldo Rivera's interview with the mother and father of missing five-year-old Haleigh Cummings is below. It was provided by Fox News Channel to the Times-Union.

INTERVIEW # 1 WITH RONALD CUMMINGS

FEBRUARY 21, 2009

[00:00:13]

RONALD CUMMINGS : This is uncalled for.

GERALDO RIVERA : Chad and Marcus told me that during the vigil, you told them you were 75 percent sure who took Haleigh.

RONALD CUMMINGS : There is no way -- I do not know who took Haleigh. If I had -- if I had, uh, five percent of where Haleigh was at, I would be there now and not here.

[00:00:43]

GERALDO RIVERA : Did you tell them that, though? Maybe you weren’t -- maybe you were just [OVERLAP] were just -- are they lying?

RONALD CUMMINGS : Yes, they’re absolutely lying. No, for no reason have I ever told anybody that I have any clue where my child is at. If I had any clue where my child -- you know, national TV, they’re a bunch of liars. Chad and whoever told you this are a bunch of liars. I never even spoke with them.

GERALDO RIVERA : They told -- they told me that you hit Haleigh. Is that true?

[00:01:13]

RONALD CUMMINGS : No. Never, ever have I ever hit my child. Me and my child have an agreement. Daddy, daughter. She has been spanked on her behind the way DCF says that you can take care of disciplining your children.

GERALDO RIVERA : You never backhanded her to the face?

RONALD CUMMINGS : [OVERLAP] Never. Never have I ever backhanded my child in the face, ever.

GERALDO RIVERA : Did you hit Crystal when she was pregnant?

[00:01:37]

RONALD CUMMINGS : No. I did not. Never.

GERALDO RIVERA : You didn’t hit her in the back of the head and kick her?

RONALD CUMMINGS : No. No. I never have.

GERALDO RIVERA : You swear to God you never hit your pregnant woman?

RONALD CUMMINGS : [OVERLAP] Never. Never, never have I ever hit any woman, period. Never. And I’d like to know where all these allegations are coming from because I would like to talk -- talk to law enforcement and have these false allegations, um, known that, um, the false allegations against me, somebody needs criminal charges pressed against them.

[00:02:02]

GERALDO RIVERA : What about the allegations of cocaine use, methamphetamine use?

RONALD CUMMINGS : There’s nothing. I do not do drugs.

GERALDO RIVERA : You don’t do drugs? All those arrests were all --

RONALD CUMMINGS : No.

GERALDO RIVERA : Do you work for the police? Are you an informant?

RONALD CUMMINGS : No, I am no an informant. I do not work for the police. I work for PDM, which is a, um, bridge building company. That’s who I work for.

GERALDO RIVERA : And you’ve never been involved in the drug trade?

RONALD CUMMINGS : No.

GERALDO RIVERA : And when they tell me they saw bricks of marijuana that you had in the house, plants all around the house, is that a lie?

[00:02:31]

RONALD CUMMINGS : It is absolutely a lie and I would like to know where the information is coming from so that I can get, um, the proper authorities to take care of this.

GERALDO RIVERA : You’re -- put all this stuff aside. If some associate of yours, some associate that had something to do with drugs and this is not about drugs but if these people are on the dark side of life, don’t you think that you should share that information? Share -- tell us about -- when you told Marcus and Chad that you were 75 percent sure and you had your gun ready and your -- and you had your gun ready and you were gonna go get em, didn’t you say that? Isn’t that a fact, Ron?

[00:03:09]

RONALD CUMMINGS : No, it is not a fact.

GERALDO RIVERA : Why would they make that up? Why would they make that up?

RONALD CUMMINGS : I don’t know why they would make [OVERLAP] for you. But I -- I am fixing [OVERLAP] to have the law called right here, right now because you’re making up things or they’re making up things and you’re getting into --

GERALDO RIVERA : I am -- I am relating to you what they are saying.

RONALD CUMMINGS : [OVERLAP] My face, man.

MALE : You need to back off, man. That’s my son.

[00:03:29]

GERALDO RIVERA : Alright. Well I’m sorry -- I am sorry for what has happened.

FEMALE : No, you’re not sorry. [OVERLAPPED CONVERSATION]

MALE : You need to go.

FEMALE : We are -- [OVERLAPPED CONVERSATION] Listen. You wanna come up here and make [OVERLAP] allegations. Why don’t you go back to --

GERALDO RIVERA : These are not my allegations, mamn. These are not my allegations. You have to understand that.

FEMALE : [OVERLAP] Okay. [OVERLAP] All we care about --

[00:03:46]

GERALDO RIVERA : You have to understand this is not my allegation. Don’t touch him, don’t touch him, please. We’re leaving. Come on, let’s go. Let’s go.

RONALD CUMMINGS : [OVERLAP] I wanted you to see that all this is about is my daughter. I love you, baby. [OVERLAP] If you are out there, I want you to know that I love you and I will find you, baby. I love you. And two, whoever -- whoever has you, please bring my daughter home to me. I love my daughter. I love you, baby. I will find you.

[00:04:15]

GERALDO RIVERA : You believe she’s alive then?

RONALD CUMMINGS : I’m always gonnd believe that my daughter’s alive until they find her. [SILENCE]

INTERVIEW #2 WITH HALEIGH’S MOM CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD & HALEIGH’S GRANDMA MARIE GRIFFIS

FEBRUARY 21, 2009

[00:00:08]

GERALDO RIVERA : When Ron Cummings is seen on television, most often, he is crying or in mourning or other conduct appropriate to a father whose daughter has gone missing. But the family on the mother’s side tells a much different story and a much different image emerges of Ron Cummings. Crystal, is not a fact that he was abusive to you?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Yes he was. He -- when I first got pregnant with Haleigh, he punched me in the back of the head and before then, he was verbal. I mean he was just very abusive.

GERALDO RIVERA : What did he call you?

[00:00:43]

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Stupid [BLEEPED: *****.] You stupid [BLEEPED: — —.] You [BLEEPED: *****]. I mean you name it, he said it.

GERALDO RIVERA : Describe when he punched you when you were pregnant.

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : We were living in Leesburg at his mother’s house. And I had just found out I was pregnant. We were both doing cocaine and I stopped and I walked in the bedroom and he was doing it.

[00:01:14]

And I was like, you know, how are you gone do this in front of me after I just found out I was pregnant and I just stopped? And he got very ****** off and I had my -- I was facing -- I had my back turned to him. He punched me in the head and then I turned around and he kicked me off the bed.

GERALDO RIVERA : And he knew you were pregnant when he kicked you?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Yes he did. He knew.

GERALDO RIVERA : And was he abusive, basically, throughout your relationship?

[00:01:43]

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : The whole time. I mean his mother knew, his granny knew. His granny even told me once, um, I don’t know why you’re with him.

GERALDO RIVERA : Why did you stay with him?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Because I was scared to leave.

GERALDO RIVERA : Are you frightened of him even today?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Yes I am.

GERALDO RIVERA : Why?

[00:02:02]

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Just because of all the things he’s done to me.

GERALDO RIVERA : Are you fr-- frightened that he’ll come after you?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Sometimes I am. I mean he’s called and wanted me to come back several times and I have went back a couple times just to be with my kid and he was still the same and I left. It hurt to leave em but I’m not gonna put myself through that.

[00:02:30]

GERALDO RIVERA : Do you believe his story about what happened?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : No, I don’t. I mean I know he loves Haleigh and -- [PAUSES] -- his temper, I mean it could get bad enough for him to hurt Haleigh. But I do know he loves Haleigh. Haleigh is his heart and everybody knows that.

[00:03:02]

GERALDO RIVERA : Has he ever hit Haleigh?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Um, my cousin, Candice, told me when we got down here for this incident, that, um, he come to her house -- it was Ronald, Haleigh, Junior and Misty. And Haleigh bumped into him or smarted off to him and she said he just backhanded her. And she fell flat on her face on the porch.

[00:03:29]

GERALDO RIVERA : Marie, you have a picture of Haleigh.

MARIE GRIFFIS : Yes.

GERALDO RIVERA : Do you want me to see it?

MARIE GRIFFIS : Yes. You get it.

GERALDO RIVERA : Alright this is a picture, a disturbing picture, that shows Haleigh with an obvious black eye, a cut on her nose and the -- a bruise that goes from the top of her left eye all the way down to the left side of her cheek.

[00:03:58]

Now I understand the school records indicate that she had an accident at school. Are these injuries the result of that accident?

MARIE GRIFFIS : Uh, that’s what we were told, that she fell at school and -- or who was pushed at school by -- by another child and that she fell catching the sidewalk and that was the results of it. But if you fall on the sidewalk, why didn’t her hands get skint, her knees get skint?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : [OVERLAP] The nurse said that all she had was a scratch on her nose.

GERALDO RIVERA : So you -- you -- do you believe that Ron Cummings hit this child?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : I don’t know if he hit her or if she fell down or any other incident happened. But that did not happen at school. The nurse said she had a scratch on her nose.

[00:05:22]

GERALDO RIVERA : And you have witnesses that he has hit this child?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Yes.

MARIE GRIFFIS : Yes.

GERALDO RIVERA : Do you believe that Ron Cummings knows who took Haleigh?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : Yes. I mean he’s told my brother and my fiancé that he knows -- he’s 75 percent sure he knows where his daughter is. He said on TV that he had no enemies.

GERALDO RIVERA : Is that true?

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD : No. He’s got plenty of enemies.

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD: I KNOW WHEN HE’S REALLY CRYING, THAT IS FAKE

Gearldo Rivera was given a trespass warning after the interview with family members on 02/21

No new information about Haleigh Cummings’ whereabouts materialized on Sunday.

But as the search for the missing Putnam County girl closed out its 13th day, the case took a surreal turn as her family’s conflict became fodder for national television.

It all started Saturday afternoon, when police responded to a disturbance at the trailer park where Haleigh’s mother’s family and father’s family are camped out at opposite ends of the road.

The disturbance began after Geraldo Rivera, anchor of the Fox News Channel’s “Geraldo at Large,” accosted Ronald Cummings, Haleigh’s father, at the camper where he has been living. It ended with a trespass warning for Rivera, and shortly thereafter, the broadcast of his contentious interview. Read the transcript
here
.

Geraldo asked him about allegations that he used illegal drugs, was physically and verbally abusive of Sheffield — most of them detailed in a Thursday story in the Times-Union — which he denied.

Cummings got even more upset when Rivera said he’d been told by members of Haleigh’s mother’s family that Cummings hit the child and has said he is 75 percent sure he knows who has her. Shortly thereafter, family members ran Rivera and his crew off the property.

Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene later, and issued Rivera the trespass warning at the request of the two property owners on whose land the Cummings family is camping while their trailer remains closed off as a crime scene. A trespass warning means Rivera would be arrested if he came back onto the property. Rivera told deputies he understood and stated he would not come back to the address, but declined to sign the trespass warning, according to a sheriff’s office report.

A Fox News spokeswoman provided partial transcripts of the interviews, but said she was unable to make anyone from the show available for comment on the run-in.

In Rivera’s later interview with Sheffield and her mother, she repeated those allegations, but said she still believes that Cummings loves Haleigh.

On Sunday, neither parent was speaking to the media. Haleigh’s paternal grandmother, Teresa Neves, issued yet another plea for people nationwide to keep an eye out for her granddaughter.

Official police searches of that area have stilled, but detectives from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office are still tracking down leads, said Capt. Dick Schauland.

Still, groups of volunteers from as far away as Brunswick, Ga. continued to look for the girl in the nearby area. And well-wishers still flowed into the two campgrounds to lend support, bringing everything from breakfast burritos to stuffed animals to hand-penned prayers for Haleigh’s safe return.

Haleigh disappeared on Feb. 10 from the home of Cummings, who had official custody, and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin, who has been questioned several times by detectives as the last person to see her. Croslin said she put Haleigh and her then-3-year-old brother to bed, and when she awoke about 3 a.m., the little girl was gone.

Haleigh Cummings Father Ronald Cummings press conference Thur 02/19

SATSUMA, FL -- Speaking directly to the media for the first time, the father of the missing 5-year-old girl made several pleas for his daughter's return.

The first thing Ronald Cummings said into the microphone was, "Find my daughter."

Asked about the possibility that his girlfriend, Misty Croslin, was not home at the time of Haleigh's abduction as she has said she was, Cummings said, "I believe she's telling the truth."

Cummings was also asked about reports that he got into a fight with a relative shortly before Haleigh disappeared.

"There was no fight with a cousin over a gun," he replied, adding that he doesn't know how such rumors got started.

MORE: REPORT OF FIGHT INVOLVING RONALD CUMMINGS

Cummings then wanted to shift attention back to his daughter. "Don't focus on my life," he repeatedly said. "It's not about what's going on in my life; it's about my daughter missing."

He said he has no enemies, and held the news conference for one reason. "I'm here for a plea for my daughter to come home, and that's it."

Haleigh's grandmother, Teresa Nebes, said the little girl has a small, brown birthmark on the side of her face, and then said through tears, "Whoever has my baby, why don't you have a heart...bring her home."

Cummings added one more statement to his daughter Haleigh. "Baby I love you and we will find you...I love you."

Witness reports seeing Haleigh cummings in Knoxville TN. Haleigh was reported missing from FL

The search for a missing 5-year-old Florida girl is broadening, with at least one tip coming in from as far away as Knoxville.

A woman at the Carraba's restaurant in West Knoxville called police on Sunday afternoon to say she saw a girl matching Haleigh Cummings' description.

The witness told investigators a white man walked out with a young girl, shielding her face as they got into a red Toyota RAV4 with Florida plates.

The call launched a grid search, which included the Knoxville Police Department and Knox County Sheriff's Office.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed the search but said no troopers were involved.

Investigators were unable to locate the child and did not find any proof indicating the child was Haleigh Cummings.

Today Show with Ronald Cummings sister Crystal Cummings

The interview with Crystal Cummings starts at 2:52

Officials now do not know what Haleigh Cummings was wearing at the time of disappearance

PALATKA, Fla. - Authorities updated the Amber Alert for Haleigh Cummings on Tuesday, because they no longer know what clothes she was wearing when she disappeared a week ago.

Earlier, investigators said the 5-year-old girl was wearing a pink shirt, but that shirt has been located. Now, officials do not know what clothing the girl was wearing when she was reported missing from her Putnam County home on Feb. 19.

At a 4 p.m. news conference, investigators would make no comment about the pink shirt.

At the county's emergency operations center in Palatka, officials have fielded hundreds of calls from people who believe they may have a clue to Haleigh's whereabouts.

At a news briefing on Tuesday, Putnam County Sheriff's Office Capt. Steve Rose said authorities are following several good leads they received while canvassing the neighborhood where Haleigh vanished one week ago.

Rose said authorities also talked to drivers in the neighborhood while conducting a road block near Haleigh's home. He would not release further details about the leads.

With the ground search wrapped up around Haleigh's home, investigators moved to the Lake Como area on Tuesday.

But more tactical searches may be in the future for law enforcement officers as they follow up on tips and other leads.

"We may come back and search some of those areas again based on that new information," Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said.

Authorities continued to conduct interviews with Haleigh's family and friends on Monday.

Police follow tip Ronald Cummings Girlfriend Misty was not home at time of disappearance

PALATKA, Fla. -- Since an Amber Alert was issued for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings one week ago, more than 1,000 tips have poured into a Crimestoppers hot line; and until Tuesday afternoon investigators have not released specific information about the leads they've received.

However, on Tuesday, new information was released that Haleigh's father's girlfriend, 17-year-old Misty Croslin, may not have been at home the night Haleigh disappeared.

Investigators in Putnam County said they are looking into the Croslin tip as a possibility.

Haleigh was reported missing just after 3 a.m. last Tuesday when Croslin told authorities she woke up and found the child missing. Within minutes, Croslin and Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, placed frantic calls to 911.

A massive search was under way by first light and an Amber Alert was issued.

Since the investigation began, Croslin has told detectives and told Channel 4 that she put Haleigh and the girl's younger brother to bed at about 8 p.m., and that at 10 p.m. both children were still in bed.
Croslin said when she awoke at about 3 a.m. to use the bathroom she noticed Haleigh was missing.

"I didn't make it to the bathroom. I seen the kitchen light on and I walked in the kitchen and the back door is wide open," Croslin told Channel 4's Laura Mazzeo. "I go in the room and she's gone. And that's all I know. When I went to bed she was there and then when I got up and she was gone."

Croslin has been interviewed by detectives and volunteered to take a lie-detector test -- which she said she passed -- but had not spoken publicly until midday Thursday when she spoke to Mazzeo.

"I didn't hear anything at all. If I'd heard something, I would have got up and I wouldn't have let them take her," Croslin said.

Croslin said Haleigh and her 3-year-old brother "look at me like their mom."

"I love her like she's my own," she said. "I just want her to come home."

Croslin said she doesn't blame herself, but she's emotionally devastated and just want to know that Haleigh is safe.

"I wished they'd took me instead of her, because I could have fought," Croslin said. "She's only 5; she can't really do anything. What do they want with a little 5-year-old?"

Detectives said the lead that Croslin may not have been home when Haleigh went missing is just one of many tips they are looking into.

Investigators also revealed on Tuesday new information about Amber Alert that was issued last week, say they have the pink T-shirt Haleigh was originally thought to be wearing the night she disappeared.

"We obtained information through our investigation that young Haleigh was not, in fact, wearing the pink shirt at the time of her disappearance," Putnam County Chief Deputy Rick Ryan said. "What we need people to focus on (Haleigh's) face because we do not know at this time what the clothing was."

Tuesday afternoon, officials said they have received almost 1,200 leads -- double the number they had on Monday -- but there have been no confirmed sightings of Haleigh.

Still, officials said all tips are welcome and anyone with information about Haleigh's disappearance should call at 888-277-TIPS or the FDLE's Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse at 888-FL-MISSING.

Hope Service Held For Haleigh

Over the past week, family and friends of Haleigh have come together to pray for the child's safe return during candlelight vigils. On Tuesday afternoon, instead of gathering for an outdoor candlelight vigil, they met a church a few miles from the Cummings' home.

If you have any information please call the Ouachita County Sheriff's Department at (870) 837-2200.
Volunteers help search
Dive teams are in the water in Ouachita County looking for a missing 3 year old boy.

A Morgan Nick Amber Alert was issued for Dominick Wesley Arceneaux Tuesday after his mother reported him missing from the backyard of their home.

Debbie Fields says it just comes natural.

"I just felt a need to come out and help. I have a three-year-old grandson and I pray that people would come and help me if he was lost."

That's exactly what she and her two nieces are doing, covering thick, rough ground terrain, looking for 3-year-old Dominick Arceneaux.

"You don't know what you're going to find, I've been doing a lot of praying and calling his name, nothing yet," Fields said.

Game and Fish dive teams are on scene searching White Oak Lake. The Ouachita County Sheriff's Department does not suspect foul play but kept crime scene tape up throughout the day, not ruling anything out.

"It's sad, especially the unknown, it's different if you have something to work with, but if you have nothing to work with, you don't know where to start," Sheriff David Norwood says.

"I would crawl to look for him, it just gets you when your baby is missing," Fields says.

Fields, joined by police and up to 70 volunteers will keep searching for little Dominick Arceneaux.

"We're praying that, I don't know, just bring him home safe," Fields says. "Somebody's going to find him, he's going to be alright, we're going to keep looking."

Dominick's mom, Amber, is with family at their home. Understandably too upset to talk about how she's holding up.

Update

New information continues to come in from Ouachita County after the discovery of the body of a 3-year-old boy who had been missing more than a week.

We're now told that Dominick Arceneaux's body was found at 11:45 this morning by a Sheriff's Department team searching White Oak Lake by boat.

The Sheriff confirmed this afternoon that the body found was the missing child.

Shortly after noon today, the Ouachita County Sheriff's Office deactivated the Morgan Nick Amber Alert for the boy, but saying only that a body had been found.

It wasn't until 1:30 this afternoon that the Sheriff confirmed the body found is 3-year-old Dominick Arceneaux.

The child had been missing since February 10 and an extensive search for him had gone on for days.

On Monday, the FBI set up a hotline seeking information in the case.

The boy, who lived only 50-feet away from the lake, had been missing since February 10.

2005 court documents concerning custody of Haleigh Cummings

Reported by: Kristen Cosby

Last Update: 2/13 12:04 pm

Haleigh Cummings Court Documents 1 (1.4MB)

SATSUMA, Fla.-- A document filed by the mother of missing girl Haleigh Cummings claims she wandered off when she was in her father's care in 2005.

The document is a "Motion for Rehearing and Objection to Findings of Magistrate." It was filed by Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, in January 2006. Sheffield filed it after Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, was granted primary custody by a judge in December 2005.

The motion says "During or about the month of July 2005, Ronald failed to keep control of the toddler Haleigh while she was in his care, and allowed her to wander off. The child was found and rescued by the mother, floating face down in the canal behind the house. The mother rescued and revived the child."

CBS47/FOX30 asked Sheffield about the incident Wednesday. She said she was outside Ronald's mother's house putting Haleigh's younger brother, Ronald Cummings Jr., in his car seat. She claimed Ronald Cummings Sr. was responsible for Haleigh. Sheffield said she asked Ronald where Haleigh was and he didn't know. She claims she soon found Haleigh in the canal.

Sheffield never called police about this incident and there is no other record of it taking place. A judge has yet to change Ronald's primary custody status.

According to the "Report and Recommendation of the General Magistrate" obtained by CBS47/FOX30 at the Putnam County Courthouse, a judge granted primary custody to Ronald after Sheffield failed to appear at the custody hearing.

Ronald told the judge Haleigh has Turner Syndrome and needs hormone treatments by an endocrinologist. He said Sheffield frequently failed to take Haleigh to her doctors appointments.

Haleigh's father also told the judge Sheffield had a drug problem and was unemployed.

Sheffield was granted visitation rights with both of her children. She can see them every other weekend and on certain holidays. The judge also ordered her to pay child support to Ronald.

Haleigh's father returned home from work 3 a.m. Monday and discovered his daughter disappeared from her bed. Police issued an Amber Alert for her a few hours later. Investigators believe she was abducted.

update Giovanni Gonzalez :Father Ernesto Gonzalez Jr allegedly confessed to murdering his son

LYNN, Mass. (AP) — For months, Ernesto Gonzalez Jr. sat in jail, refusing to say anything about the weekend last summer when his 5-year-old son, Giovanni, disappeared.

Then in November, Gonzalez broke his silence, telling a newspaper reporter a gruesome story: He stabbed the boy to death, dismembered him in the bathtub, put his remains in plastic grocery bags and dumped them in trash bins around the city.

The account baffled prosecutors, police and Gonzalez's lawyer — all of whom have said there was no evidence found in his apartment to corroborate his story.

The alleged confession also stunned Gonzalez's ex-girlfriend, Daisy Colon, who had spent more than three agonizing months pleading for word of her son.

"It's lies," Colon said recently. "Why would you deny having your son, then, after all this time, why would you come out and say something like that? He wants the attention. He wants people to stop looking for Giovanni, and that's not going to happen."

Police and prosecutors in this Boston suburb declined repeated requests for comment from The Associated Press. They have not said publicly whether they believe Gonzalez's account, whether they think the child is dead or alive, or why the father would have confessed to such a deed. The 36-year-old meatpacker has not been charged with killing his son.

In the interview with The Boston Globe, Gonzalez said that during a visit to his apartment Aug. 15-17, his son misbehaved by spitting, throwing bottles, ripping a bedsheet and jabbing him in the back with a pen.

On Sunday, the day Giovanni was supposed to go back to his mother, Gonzalez said, the boy was yelling when Gonzalez picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the child.

"It happened fast," he told the Globe. "I was upset. It happened in a moment."

Gonzalez told the reporter he loved his son and regretted killing him.

Gonzalez's lawyer, Lawrence McGuire, said no evidence taken during police searches of Gonzalez's apartment backs up his story. "I would say the district attorney is skeptical," McGuire told The Daily Item of Lynn. McGuire did not return calls from the AP.

Some forensic experts said Gonzalez could have killed and dismembered his son the way he described, then used bleach or another strong cleaning agent to remove the blood. But others said it is highly unlikely he could have killed his son in such a ghastly way without leaving any trace.

"If someone shed blood and they cleaned it up, you can still find it," said Gary Rini, a former police officer and crime-scene investigator who is now a consultant in Cleveland. "The only way you are not going to find it is if they remove the surface upon which the blood was shed — period." In this case, that would require removing the kitchen floor and the bathtub.

Steve O'Connell, a spokesman for the district attorney, would not say what kind of testing police did for blood in Gonzalez's apartment or whether any new tests were done after Gonzalez gave his account from jail, where he was being held on child endangerment charges.

Two weeks after Gonzalez's alleged confession, he was charged with parental kidnapping and misleading police. The misleading-police charge was based not on what he told the reporter, but on his initial insistence that he had not seen his son the weekend he disappeared.

Colon said she and Gonzalez lived together until Giovanni was 2. She said she ended their relationship after Gonzalez swung a chair at her, hitting a cabinet behind her. While they were together, Gonzalez helped take care of Giovanni and never hurt him, she said.

After the couple split up, Gonzalez petitioned a court for visitation rights, and the boy began spending weekends last summer with his father.

After the first two visits, Giovanni chattered happily about how he and his father had gone to the park, colored and watched movies together, his mother said.

On Friday, Aug. 15, Colon dropped Giovanni off again. Witnesses said they saw the boy on Saturday, kicking a ball with his father, then accompanying his father to an appointment with a therapist. But when Colon went to pick up Giovanni on Sunday afternoon, no one answered the door. The next day, police arrested Gonzalez.

Authorities searched for the boy in Massachusetts, Florida and Puerto Rico, where Gonzalez and Colon were born and have family.

Police found blood on a mop in the apartment and said Gonzalez had a cut and bandaged finger he would not explain. But authorities later said the blood was the father's, not his son's.

Colon pleaded for Giovanni's safe return on television and on the Internet. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children put up thousands of posters. The case was also featured on "America's Most Wanted."

The 33-year-old mother said she firmly believes her son is still alive and thinks someone is helping Gonzalez hide him, maybe to punish her for ending their relationship.

"Whoever has him, just leave him at the police station or leave him somewhere where he can just say his name," Colon said. "I don't even need to know who it is. I just want my son back."

Haleigh cummings still missing

Police searching for missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings were notified about a missing Florida sex offender, but stopped short of calling the man a suspect in the girl's disappearance, Ocala.com reports.

Chad Eugene Reynolds, 25, was last seen Feb. 1 leaving his mother's home in Ochlawaha, Fla. — about two hours from Haleigh's home — police said. He was reported missing on Feb. 4.

Reynolds reportedly borrowed a car from a friend and then later called to say the vehicle had broken down near the Marion/Lake County Lines, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. The car was located in an undisclosed location south of Marion County, but Reynolds was nowhere to be found.

Reynolds was sentenced in Putnum County — the same county where Haleigh was reported missing Feb. 10 — to seven years in prison for armed burglary and lewd and lascivious molestation of a child younger than 12. The incident happened in September of 2002.
